Dental Treatment Guarantee

British-Hungarian Medical Service gives a guarantee on the implants and the cosmetic dental works which is in line with or in some cases exceeds the international standards.

The guarantees apply to remedial dental work and can be validated only if the signed guarantee document is present. Annual check-ups every 12 months are mandatory at our clinics in Budapest or London - the cost of yearly check up is £50 in Budapest and £75 in London. to keep this guarantee.

The Guarantee applies to your dental work as follow:

* The standard guarantee for crowns is three years, subject to annual check ups at the 1^st and 2^nd anniversary. Failure to attend the yearly check-up will invalidate the guarantee.

Terms and conditions of the guarantee:
The guarantee applies to dental restoration under normal conditions of use.

In case of a failure we will place another implant at no additional cost to you.
If your implants were placed in Budapest, the re-implant can be placed in Budapest under guarantee.
If your implants were placed in London, the re-implant can be placed either in London or in Budapest under guarantee.
If your implant was placed in Budapest but you would like to have the re-implant in London, we are pleased to do it, you only have to pay the difference between the Hungarian and UK implant price.

In the unlikely event that the re-implant is not possible, because your body rejects the implant we will pay back the price of the implant material.
In the case where a re-implant is possible but you would not wish to have it done, we will refund the material cost of the implant.

We will restore, repair or change broken, loose, cracked, and discoloured fillings or crowns free of charge. In the case of implants the guarantee is only valid if our dental clinic completes the full work including fitting the crowns and/or bridges.

Smoking
Clients who smoke cigarettes will risk the guarantee offered on implants. . The success rate of implant placement for smokers reduces from 98% to approx only 70%. Whilst many UK dentists refuse to accept clients who smoke (as they wish to maintain their 100% success record) the oral surgeons at BHMS will carry out the surgery with certain conditions.
After surgery BHMS will provide a guarantee letter stating the provisional length of guarantee from the implant. To achieve full guarantee status, clients who smoke will be required to return after 6 months for a check-up, a hygiene treatment and an x-ray - cost £100 - where the dentist will carry out a thorough inspection. On the 1^st anniversary, a 2^nd examination must be carried out - cost £100 - and if it is found that there is no evidence of damage or infection, and the implant looks stable, the guarantee will be fully validated. Thereafter to ensure the guarantee is kept valid, yearly check-ups must be attended.

The guarantee will be reduced or invalidated if:

• Oral hygiene is neglected
• Dentist's instructions are not followed
• Removable restorations, such as partial dentures or full dentures are not maintained properly
• Annual check-up is not regularly attended and carried out by BHMS
• The gum tissue or tooth bone is reducing naturally
• Substantial amount of weight loss or gain occurs within a short period of time
• A general illness is present which has an unfavourable effects on the chewing organ (e.g. diabetes, epilepsy, osteoporosis, after-condition excessive X-rays or chemotherapy)
• Damage caused by accidents, sports or any third party
• Smoking or drug abuse
• Payment obligations to BHMS are not fulfilled

The guarantee does not apply for the following:

• Allergies, tooth illnesses and their consequences exfoliated after treatment and was not noticeable before intervention
• Damages caused by extreme stress (grinding teeth at night, gripping of the teeth)
• Damage caused by intervention of other individuals, not members of the BHMS team. (i.e. other dentists, technicians)
• Temporary dentures, crowns or bridges
• Bone grafting procedures (bone block, bone augmentation, sinus lift, bone from hip)
• Tooth-whitening procedure
• Inappropriate selection of the colour and shape of the dental work by the patient i.e. colour of crowns (we provide opportunity to choose during the preparation but we cannot take responsibility for the decision of the patient).
• Root canal treatment (root canal treatment has a high risk factor, guarantees of success cannot be given because the anatomic differences and the large number of variations)

Please note, that if your tooth or root canal unexpectedly (not seen during the initial diagnosis, x-ray or consultation) becomes apparent during the preparation of fixed prosthetic works (crowns, bridges, inlays, onlays), British Hungarian Medical Service does not take any responsibility for the need of root canal treatment in these cases but will offer treatment which shall be carried out at the patient's expense (i.e. complex root canal treatment, root extraction, plan for new prosthetic work and the preparation thereof).

The guarantee does not include travelling expenses to and from Hungary nor accommodation costs and is only valid for remedial dental work. It remains strictly the responsibility of the patient to ensure they are able to travel.
